Dear Friends of Women of Song,
We hope everyone is sheltering in place well, and staying healthy! Unfortunately, we need to make this formal announcement that, in light of the current global pandemic, our Board has made the difficult decision to cancel our May 16th,17th concerts, hereby ending our 2019-2020 Season. While this is a painful and disappointing decision to make, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone’s health and well being.
We were looking forward to sharing some fabulous music with you, including an arrangement of Holst’s “Jupiter Theme” set with the following text that is particularly poignant for today:
Homeland, the country that I love, hold out your hands to me.
I strive for you, and give you the best I hope to be.
May your wisdom be your armour, your compassion be your sword,
May your strength be forged with mercy, your courage lives restore.
Homeland, the country that I love, forever reign supreme;
And when time stands still, my homeland, may heaven hold your dream.
Women of Song would like to thank you for your past support and we look forward to resuming in the Fall of 2020. If you’d like to continue to support us during this difficult time, we’d invite you to make a donation by clicking on Support Us in the banner at the top of this page. Your generosity will help Women of Song fulfill our mission of bringing entertaining, uplifting and inspirational music to our community. We are also a part of GiveMN.org and able to receive donations through them as well. Know your generosity is particularly appreciated at this time!
